Ultimately, narrated by Rob Lowe, and broadcast on ESPN, this high-end documentary, had a rough start. After the original director had been fired, Mark Shapiro, President of the media conglomerate Endeavor brought the project to director Fritz Mitchel to see if he could save it: 

“Fritz and I were colleagues at CBS Sports way back in the day. He had moved to Vermont years before, and when COVID brought my family to Vermont as well, Fritz and I discovered we were neighbors. His production company, Peak Mark Films, was renting space at the Teddy Bear Factory, around the corner from the house my family and I were renovating. 

Fritz is a master of making sports stories relevant to the larger culture of the moment, and is in high-demand. I was on the lookout for a way to collaborate with him again, so when he offered me a chance to work on this project, I jumped at the opportunity.
