Paul's work with The Athletic gave him the opportunity to work with producer Allan Goldberg (60 Minutes) and to reconnect with his Tour de France colleagues from CBS Sports, Armen Keteyian and Vic Frank, the three of whom formed the video unit for the organization: 

"For this first feature, I was paired with field producer Brian Hyland (Inside the NFL). It was a perfect project for an editor with experience in both sports and documentary. My goal was to bring all the storytelling skills I’ve developed in documentary work to evoke the emotion appropriate to this touching story of how sports transformed a community. 

Even now, I still get a bit choked up watching it—a testament to the power of combining strong narrative structure with heartfelt human moments."
