Paul won his ninth Emmy working on his seventh Olympic Games: 

"The Paris Summer Games in 2024 were spectacular! After working the COVID-affected Tokyo and Beijing Olympics, it was exciting to experience the revived spirit of the Games. This was my third stint at NBC Sports headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, and the team worked us hard with no breaks. But the energy made it exhilarating. 

This clip highlights several features I edited, including Willie Geist’s piece on the Olympic Refugee Team, which was particularly celebrated and promoted on social media. 

I contributed to thirteen features for NBC Sportsdesk’s “Olympic Zone,” the show that airs ahead of Primetime. Olympic Zone provides affiliates with content to create localized broadcasts, spotlighting sideline stories that Primetime may not have time for. The show balances sports storytelling with news urgency and a regional flavor, often flying under the radar for those focused on Primetime. 

Despite tight turnaround times—less than a day for some features—the quality is excellent, and the ratings are impressive, often surpassing national news broadcasts. Olympic Zone serves as the perfect preview show, revving up audiences for the main Primetime events."
