Paul won his seventh Emmy working his sixth Olympics, the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing for NBC Sports:

"These features are my favorite of the many I edited for the Beijing Winter Games. Lots of skating, spotlighting the fierce rivalry between the U.S. and Canadian women’s hockey teams, as well as the friendship between U.S. figure skating champions Nathan Chen and Mariah Bell. 

The Olympics are a grueling experience—truly “a marathon, not a sprint.” Being on-site allows for absorbing the energy of the events and sometimes catching a live competition, but Beijing, locked down due to COVID, required almost all work to be done remotely. Even most talent stayed home! 

I worked from the NBC Sports facility in Stanford, Connecticut, part of a massive operation coordinating broadcast and streaming coverage. It was a complex challenge, but being part of such a well-organized effort and helping tell these athlete stories was incredibly rewarding."
